Ann LeMay is a licensed
clinical psychologist and an avid part time painter. A native New Mexican
she loves the vibrant colors in New Mexico landscapes and the intense
light emanating from its clear blue skies.
She
took up painting seriously about 10 years ago as a way to express her
feelings and appreciation of the beauty in the world she saw. Ann has
studied under many of Santa Fe’s most prominent art teachers and has
taken workshops to improve her artistic skills and technique. She
has been jurried into the Santa Fe Art Society and has shown her paintings
at numerous shows and exhibits. Her lively use of bright clear color
transforms Southwestern landscapes and still lifes into exciting pictorial
impressions of beauty and tranquility.
Bill LeMay is a geologist who has spent a 44 year career in New Mexico’s
petroleum industry. For the 11 years prior to retirement with the State in
1998, Bill served under 3 Governors as Director of the New Mexico Oil
Conservation Division. Since retirement he has been a passionate painter
of all aspects of New Mexico, its land and its people. Bill has studied
under Santa Fe’s best oil and watercolor teachers and has taken
workshops to further his impressionistic style of painting. His teachers
have praised his rapid mastery of color, value and composition and his
dedication to improving his artistic talent. His paintings reflect a
unique vision of New Mexico’s enchanting land, from mountains and mesas
to monasteries and meadows.
